Insurance and Payment

At Philia Physio in Bala Cynwyd, PA, most of our physical therapy services are billed through insurance.

Pelvic health care is the exception: male and female pelvic health services are cash-based, and we provide superbills you can submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. If you are unsure what your plan covers, call us at (215) 436-8028 and we will help you check before your first visit.

Insurance-Based Physical Therapy

We treat back and neck pain, sciatica, shoulder, hip, and knee problems, sports injuries, vestibular and balance disorders, neurological conditions, and pediatric conditions through insurance.

Your out-of-pocket cost depends on your plan and may include a copay, deductible, or coinsurance. We recommend verifying your benefits before starting care so there are no surprises.

Pelvic Health: Cash-Based Care With Superbills

Male and female pelvic health services, including care for incontinence, prolapse, and erectile dysfunction, are cash-based.

After each visit, we provide a superbill, which is a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company to request out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement depends on your plan.

Do I Need a Referral?

Pennsylvania allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can usually start care without a physician referral.

Some insurance plans still require one, and Pennsylvania's direct access rules include a 30-day provision, so longer courses of care may need a physician referral.

If you are unsure, call us and we will help you sort it out.
